Husya: the little cat who survived a long treatment and joined a big family of cats

We found Husya (Vibi Vanderkryak) in the spring of 2022. At that time, we didn’t yet know that she was quite an older cat — around 16–18 years old. She was in terrible condition: her face was deformed by an eosinophilic granuloma, and her entire belly was covered in tumors. We couldn’t pass by (even though we already had 13 cats at that point) and took her for treatment, thinking that afterward we would find her a home. The long treatment began, with daily injections lasting more than six months. During this time, everyone grew very fond of her, and no one wanted to give her away. Husya turned out to be a very intelligent cat; she quickly understood everything. She loved “talking” to me — she would say “mnya mnya, murnya?” and I would reply, “mnya mnya, Husya, mnya mnya.”She was very gentle and affectionate, always loving to climb onto hands, and could sit there for hours. When she wanted something badly, she would simply sit beside you and silently, unblinkingly stare into your eyes until you did what she wanted. She loved my brother and his girlfriend very much; to her, they were everything. When they visited, she wouldn’t leave their side for even a moment and constantly “talked” to them.About a month after we took her in, we got a kitten, and Husya became a mother figure for him — she even produced milk. Husya was the ideal cat: graceful, calm, strong-willed, yet very social and tactile. We will miss her deeply… ❤️
